About Us

Ofsted registered day nursery and preschool in Swanscombe, Kent and a member of the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA).

Springfield Lodge Day Nursery and Preschool is situated in Craylands Lane, close to mainline and Ebbsfleet Station, M25/A2, Bluewater shopping centre and Town Centre, Dartford. We offer exceptionally high standards of childcare and education for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.

Our ethos is based on the understanding that children are foremost their own educators - natural learners with ability, curiosity and imagination. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their future. We believe each child deserves the best possible start in life and the support to fulfill their potential. As professionals we nurture their learning by providing the opportunity and tools to enable all our children to be happy, secure and independent individuals.

Our nursery follows the government's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in order to provide the assurance to parents or carers that our care and education provision will keep their children safe and support their learning. In a typical day, children can participate in creative activities, sand and water play, story time and circle time, as well as having fun outdoors. We also offer plenty of extracurricular activities onsite.

Our grounds designed for children, are within 1.076 acres and include a soft outdoor play area for children of various ages and a large car park (for 30 vehicles). The  grassed area allows us to hold sports days and of course the children can run and ride, safely.

We are open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6.30 pm, throughout the year with the exception of bank holidays.

The nursery and preschool are registered by Ofsted for 104 children per day of under the age of 5 years and 30 for the after school / holiday club. We have a very active after school and holiday club for children aged between 4 and 11 years for which we are registered for no more than 30 children aged between 4 and 8 years.

'Children are extremely happy, settled and thriving because the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage are at the very heart of the setting. Adults nurture positive relationships with children and create stimulating, enabling environments, so that all children enjoy inclusive learning experiences. The uniqueness of each child is valued and supported through careful and thoughtful transition processes and weaning arrangements, as they take next steps towards early learning goals. Children's progress is continuous and sustained because the balance of familiar and more challenging routines and activities is consistently child focussed and fully engages parents and carers as children move through base rooms at developmentally appropriate times. The setting has an exceptional capacity for continuous improvement, driven by passion and enthusiasm for promoting best possible outcomes for children.'
